RIVERSIDE BREWING SESSION AMBER ALE

Riverside Brewing Session Amber Ale. I saw this limited edition brew on hand pump at The Royal Albert Surry Hills, Sydney and decided to give it ago. A bit of a gamble considering amber ales aren’t my favourite style and I’m yet to be convinced of the merits of hand pumped beer. I couldn’t find any info on it other than it’s 4.8% ABV.

Light amber colour with a fine head and tobacco aroma. Medium body with low carbonation. Sweet malt flavour followed by a smooth tobacco flavour with a lingering bitter finish. It seems a bit thin and lacking carbonation which often seems to be the case with hand pumped beer.

6/10
