RIVERSIDE CELEBRATION ALE

Riverside Celebration Ale. To celebrate their first birthday, Riverside created this double IPA brewed with four US hop varieties. You’ll have to guess which ones.

Opaque honey colour with a fine head. Amazing hop aroma of citrus, pine and passionfruit. Very similar mouthfeel and body to their 77 IPA.

The hop flavour is a mix of pine, citrus and passionfruit however, the passionfruit dominates. The malts and hops are well balanced and it’s hard to tell it’s 8.7% ABV, as it’s well hidden. It’s a really fruity IPA. Probably a little too much passionfruit flavour for my liking but it’s a matter of personal taste.

Overall, a solid drop. Coopers could learn a thing or two from Riverside about creating a beer worthy of the occasion.

8/10
