ROGUE ALES DAD’S LITTLE HELPER BLACK IPA

Rogue Ales Dad’s Little Helper Black India Pale Ale. It certainly helped this dad. An interesting bottle with the label printed directly onto the glass. Serigraphed, if anyone cares.

It’s inside the glass that I care about. It looks great and the aroma is hops dominatedby roast malt with a not unpleasant hint of something burnt.

The flavour is all about the five different malts used in this beer, giving roast malt, chocolate and coffee with spicy rather than bitter hops. Despite this having a big malt profile to negate the 92 IBU, it lacks a full mouthfeel to make it truly great.

This beer combines my growing love for dark beers and my thirst for a good IPA. Well worth a visit.

8/10
