ROGUE ALES DEAD GUY ALE GERMAN MAIBOCK

Rogue Ales Dead Guy Ale German Maibock. That’s Ale mentioned twice in the name of a Maibock, which is a lager. Interesting.

It pours the advertised honey colour and has a pure malty aroma. The flavour is all full mouthfeel slightly sweet malt with a hoppy finish. This uses three different malts, two hops and Pacman yeast (invokes images of a roundish creature chomping the malt and farting carbon dioxide).

While the graphic might imply a connection with Pirates of the Caribbean, the twenty year old name comes from a beer brewed for the Mayan Day of the Dead and has become mixed up with All Hallows Eve and even the Dead Heads. It gives you a host of reasons to celebrate with this tasty brew.
