SHEPHERD NEAME SPITFIRE KENTISH ALE

Shepherd Neame Spitfire Premium Kentish Ale. “The Bottle of Britain”, clear bottle and “Premium”. Oh dear. A marketer’s beer initially trading off the fiftieth anniversary of the Battle of Britain and the success of the Spitfire.
This appears to be a standard Southern English Ale. It looks good, has a malty aroma and goes down very easily. You can tell that they used some hops, but it lacks the spicy bitterness that I look for. Overall not bad for a Premium clear bottle.
At least they did not traduce the memory of a great fighter plane.
