SOUTHERN TIER 2XIPA DOUBLE IPA

Southern Tier Brewing Co 2XIPA Double India Pale Ale. I had this late one night when realised that my Alpha Acid levels were way down. A standard IPA might have been a smarter, but the  choice was this, a large bottle of DIPA or a Tripel IPA.

It poured a standard looking IPA with a reasonable resinous head considering the 8.2% ABV. The aroma was pine and citrus with a hint of toffee. The flavour is all resinous hop grapefruit, full malt mouthful and a very bitter dry finish.

I don’t know which four varieties of hops and three types of malt they used in this beer, but they do produce a tasty well balanced highish alcohol IPA.
