SOUTHERN TIER IPA

Southern Tier IPA. This is Southern Tier’s regular IPA, which is available year round. Like their other beers they are secretive about its specifications other that it utilises four types of hop, four types of malt and has medium-high bitterness.

Typical pale ale appearance with a fine head and sweet pine aroma. Medium body, soft carbonation with a smooth and resinous mouthfeel. Sweet malt flavour leading into a citrus and pine flavour with the sweetness dominating.

It’s one of those beers where the combination of booze, hops and sweetness is starting to get sickly. The relatively high 7.3% ABV accentuates the sweetness and it starts to fall into the too sweet bracket.

7/10
