STOLICHNOE DOUBLE GOLD RUSSIAN PREMIUM BEER

Stolichnoe Double Gold Russian Premium Beer. Allegedly first brewed in the 1930s for the elite of the party, this award winning beer has been revived by the Ochakovo brewery.

It pours darkish for a European lager and the head looks very creamy. The aroma is grassy esters with a hint of spice. The taste is pretty standard for the type of beer with not much malt. It appears to be well carbonated, but the creamy head lasts and gives a nice mouthfeel.

This is not bad for a drink that until recently in Russia was not classified as alcoholic.
