STUTTGARTER HOFBRAU BUGEL PREMIUM

Stuttgarter Hofrbrau Bugel Premium. From, err, Stuttgart in Germany. It's not widely regarded as a hub of German brewing, but this one was a surprise.

For starters, it had the word "Premium" on the label and wasn't complete shit.

Secondly, it poured beautifully, with the lager delivering a perfectly balanced head.

But the taste is overhwelmingly malty. There's something else significant about it, though, because by the time you've finished wondering whether or not it's too malty, you've drained the bottle.

That's largely down to a delightful mouthfeel that is both clean and light, and a more-ish aftertaste.

Potentially a great session beer.

7/10
