TEGERNSEE PILSNER

Tegernsee Pilsner. So what if the pilsner style isn't what Bavaria does best. So what if it's not what Tegernsee does best (that'd be its exceptional Helles).

It's still pretty darn good. Had one of these after a long day of work south-west of Munich and it poured beautifully with a reasonably soapy head that stayed around until stumps.

It's very light in colour and you can almost count the individual bubbles that rise up, so few of them are there.

Yet that doesn't translate to a watery mouthfeel. Instead, it's solid, with the signature Tegernsee grassy malt flavour backed up with a harder tinge of bitterness on the aftertaste.

No, it's not their best work, but it's still very quaffable on a hot day.

7/10
