TOWNSHEND’S AOTEAROA PALE ALE

Townshend’s Aotearoa Pale Ale. An indigenous Pakeha in a glass… This is a Kiwi Pale Ale, closer to an English than an American Pale Ale.

I found this to be a bit of a nothing beer until I let it sit while I drank something else. Returning to the warmed  beer the change was stunning. A pleasant, if mild hoppy aroma and a strong sweetish malt flavour. This is dominated by malt, with the hops struggling to show through.

A very satisfying beer that I would happily drink all night.

8/10
