WEIHENSTEPHANER VITUS

Weihenstephaner Vitus. Had two of these and, frankly, didn't find anything special about the first one.

After a consultation with Grumpy Graeme, I brought the second bottle in from the big fridge (it's hovering just above zero here) and left it inside for a couple of hours. And, my word, it's quite the special brew.

This is a Weiss Bock, which means it gets a special tickle everywhere. For starters, the wheat content gives it a touch more banana and sweetness in it, then the bock bit means it's a bit stronger (6.5%).

Typical of every beer that emerges from Wayne and Stephanie, it's perfectly balanced, with nothing dominating and every taste feature seamlessly blending into the next.

Wickedly good, especially in cooler weather.

9/10
